About Me

Liuyang is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (see official student profile), National University of Singapore. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Xiamen University. Her research interests revolve around the intersection of public management, political economy, and environmental and social policy. Specifically, Liuyang is investigating how principals leverage various tools to incentivize their agencies to achieve sustainability goals, ranging from poverty alleviation, pollution control to climate mitigation. Her theoretical focus includes central-local relations, accountability, cross-jurisdictional competition, and local governance.
